As evidenced by the steady stream of set photos, Atlanta is still playing host to Avengers 4, Marvel’s unnamed sequel currently on course for a release in 2019.
Nipping at the heels of Infinity War, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have now switched gears to orchestrate the second, conclusive chapter in their two-part epic, which presumably pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against Thanos for the final time in May of 2019.
Most of the MCU characters are expected to feature in some shape or form, but with Infinity War promising to bring about the death of a hero or two, fans have been furiously speculating as to who’s going to make it out alive and who won’t. Already, we can tell you that the likes of Black Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Cap, Bucky, Ant-Man and Hulk will all live to see another day, and now, we can confirm that both Black Panther and Rocket will be back, too. Not that anyone was placing bets on either of those characters dying, mind you, but both Chadwick Boseman and Sean Gunn can be seen in the new set pics below, along with Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo and Terry Notary, the actor playing Corvus Glaive.
So, if the aforementioned characters are all 100% returning for Avengers 4, then who might end up meeting their maker in Infinity War? That’s hard to say at the moment, as almost everyone has been spotted on set already. Mind you, there’s still been no sign of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland and a few others. It’d be hard to imagine any of those individuals being killed off, though – save for maybe Hiddleston.
But enough with the speculation. What we can tell you with absolute certainty is that once Thanos has waged war on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and both Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel enjoy their time in the limelight, Marvel will unleash the so-far untitled Avengers 4 upon the moviegoing masses on May 3rd, 2019. That’s still an awful long way away, so until we have some firm answers for you to pour over, you can share your knee-jerk reaction to this latest news in the comments section below.
