Avengers: Infinity War is going to be one heck of a big movie, there’s absolutely no doubt about that.
Not only will it feature Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – a rather large group in and of itself – but they’ll also be joined in their fight against big bad Thanos by a number of other characters. Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy and more will all be showing up here. And if that wasn’t enough for you, there’s also the supporting players that have been confirmed for the flick (Man-Ape, Wong, Okoye, etc.) In short, if you’re in the MCU and still have a pulse, you’ll be involved in Joe and Anthony Russo’s blockbuster in some capacity.
It’s a lot to handle, to be sure, and though the directors proved themselves capable of juggling numerous plates in Captain America: Civil War, this is a whole different beast and it’ll be interesting to see how they balance everything out. To date, we still don’t know exactly how many characters the film will feature, but we might just get some more insight into that later this month, when Marvel brings the movie to D23.
Set to take place next weekend, it’s been announced today that the studio will be holding a special event for Infinity War at the convention that will be used to bring us “never-before-seen details.” Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be getting a full trailer for the superhero extravaganza, and in all honesty, we probably won’t given that Kevin Feige has already told us that it won’t be here until November, when it’ll touch down alongside Thor: Ragnarok.
Still, it’s entirely possible that Marvel will give us some kind of sizzle reel instead, or perhaps a teaser. Then again, there’s always the chance that we’re getting all excited for nothing as in the end, it might just be some concept art, or maybe a new logo/synopsis that the studio brings us.
Either way, we know that we’re getting something at D23, and that should be enough to get people’s attention. If you ask us, as long as we see a confirmed cast list we’ll be happy. That’s all we really want at this early stage. Then again, some footage would be nice as well, even if it’s just a quick clip or sizzle reel.
Enough speculation, though. With the event set to take place on July 15th, it won’t be too much longer until we find out what Marvel’s got in store for us, and you can bet that we’ll keep you right up to date on all the Avengers: Infinity War news that emerges from D23 next week, so be sure to stay tuned.
