Captain Marvel is now less than four months away from finally reaching our screens, which means we hopefully won’t have to wait much longer before we get a trailer for Carol Danvers’ big screen debut that isn’t quite so teaser-y. In fact, with star Brie Larson announced to be headed for Brazil’s Comic Con Experience, some fans are wondering if this event could see the arrival of some new footage.
The actress will be making her CCXP appearance on December 8th, which falls exactly three months prior to the movie’s North American release date. And according to one Reddit user who’s been spreading this news, the manager of the convention has already confirmed that the weekend will see the release of “a string of exclusive trailers,” among which a new Captain Marvel promo sounds quite possible. And while it’s unclear whether these trailers will be shared with the general public afterwards, these things have a habit of making their way online either way.
That’s just speculation for now, but another recent development seems to have delivered some genuine info on the MCU’s next film. On the Marvel section of Disney’s official Japanese website, fans have found what appears to be confirmation that the Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck-helmed flick is set in 1995, meaning that Carol will be fighting Skrulls in the year of Toy Story and Batman Forever. And seeing how the first trailer opened with our hero falling into a Blockbuster, you can expect a few more nostalgic pop culture nods amidst the action.
In any case, time will tell whether CCXP will have any Captain Marvel footage to offer, but it isn’t too long now before we get to see the whole thing, with the film hitting theaters on March 8th, 2019.
