With a stupendous theatrical run in the rearview mirror, during which the Merc with a Mouth shot up the all-time domestic gross chart for an R-rated movie, Deadpool 2 officially hacked, slashed and cussed itself right onto your preferred digital platform this past Tuesday, and is scheduled to complete the journey to home video on August 21st.
Should you find yourself torn, however, over which comic book-driven feature is the right one for you to purchase – the David Leitch-directed farce, or another highly-touted superhero film that shall remain nameless – the wearer of the “big red body condom” is here to make a plea for your hard-earned dough.
“This movie night,” why not settle down with Deadpool 2: The Super Duper $@%!#& Cut. With “fifteen minutes of unrated goodies” – aka additional footage – “lovingly inserted throughout,” enjoy the experience that has “touched people in ways they never imagined.”
That’s the gist of the above promotional teaser in which Deadpool 2‘s marketed as a romantic comedy, much in the same way the first Wade Wilson movie was if you remember. Complete with hilarious quotes, including “The Super Duper $@%!#& Cut Blew Me…Away,” from a random Fox executive, and “It’s sooooo big,” according to Blake Lively, if this new featurette isn’t enough to pry the money from your wallet, I don’t know if this was ever the movie for you.
That said, if you’re in need of further convincing, in addition to the extra footage, Deadpool 2: The Super Duper $@%!#& Cut does also include a version of the movie with audio commentary done by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and director David Leitch, during which the creative team poke fun at the pending amalgamation between The Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox. That alone should be worth picking it up, wouldn’t you say?
