Set photos from filming on Spider-Man: Far From Home in Europe showed us that Peter Parker will get himself an all-black stealth suit in the hugely anticipated sequel. But that might not be the only wardrobe change that Spidey will see on his next adventure.
The other week we were told that the follow-up to Homecoming will also give the hero a revamp of the familiar souped-up suit that Tony made for him in Captain America: Civil War. Now, thanks to some set photos and videos, we can confirm that that’s indeed the case.
Down below you’ll be able to feast your eyes on the costume in question, with the footage coming from the film’s shoot in New York City. We’re unsure of the context of the scene that’s being shot, but the suit’s on full display here and we can only imagine how great it’ll look once it’s touched up in post-production.
Of course, comic book fans might see a resemblance between this costume and the one worn by the Superior Spider-Man – when Otto Octavius had control of Peter’s body – on the page. In that instance, the black detailing obviously symbolized that this was a darker version of the hero and along with the colorless stealth suit, it certainly appears as if Marvel’s sending out the message that Tom Holland’s lighter-hearted Spidey might be more mature next time around.
Unfortunately, the studio’s been keeping a pretty tight lid on the production, but we do know that Jake Gyllenhaal’s playing Quentin Beck/Mysterio (and have had a pretty good look at his costume already). We can also tell you that Spidey’s going to don a new black ‘Noir’ suit, while Michael Keaton’s making a return as The Vulture and Samuel L. Jackson will be back as Nick Fury, too. With all these pieces now falling into place, let’s hope it won’t be too long before we start to see some official promotional material from Marvel Studios.
Until then, you can look forward to Spider-Man: Far From Home swinging into theaters on July 5th, 2019.
