John Wick wasn’t exactly a box office smash back when it debuted in February 2014, but thanks to strong reviews and a rabid fanbase that ate up the film’s stylish action scenes and one of Keanu Reeves’ best performances in years, Lionsgate ordered up a sequel.
Set to release on February 10th, John Wick: Chapter 2 promises more of the same; more bloody shootouts, more kinetic, satisfying action and more of Keanu Reeves kicking ass. So far, it looks to be one hell of a good time, and while the bar was definitely set pretty high with the original, we’re confident that the sequel can match it.
Now, with just over a month to go until the film makes its debut, Lionsgate has begun to ramp up the marketing machine. We’ve already been treated to two thrilling trailers, not to mention a whole bunch of photos, and today we’ve got two more great shots to share with you. Coming to us courtesy of a Total Film magazine cover, we see Reeves’ titular hitman all bloody and bruised, presumably coming out of a rather rough fight.

They’re both great photos and while neither reveal anything new about the film, they do certainly help to amp up the excitement for what will surely be one of 2017’s most delicious treats.
Due to pick up right where we left off in 2014, early plot details for John Wick: Chapter 2 tease a more international affair, with Keanu Reeves’ one man army plotting course for Rome. He’s on a “social affair,” but it isn’t long before bullets fly and baddies fall. There’s also the promise of a new canine companion for Reeves’ lone wolf, and let’s all collectively hold out hope that it doesn’t suffer a similar fate as the adorable little puppy from the original.
John Wick: Chapter 2 will offer a welcome tonic to Fifty Shades Darker when Chad Stahelski’s action sequel opens on February 10, 2017. The fun doesn’t stop there, either, as Lionsgate is working closely with the filmmaker to flesh out ideas for a third entry into the cult series.
