In less than three weeks, Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be with us. It seems like just yesterday that Disney acquired Lucasfilm, in the process announcing plans for a new trilogy sprinkled with Anthology films in between. But here we are, four years later and just weeks away now from the debut of Rogue One.
That’s something which the Mouse House wants to make sure audiences know, as they’ve drastically ramped up the marketing campaign for the upcoming prequel. We’ve been absolutely bombarded with trailers, posters and TV spots in recent weeks. Seriously, it’s been an all out assault on the promotional front lately, and it doesn’t look to slow down any time soon.
What you’ll see below is yet another new poster for the film, which revolves around the theme of hope – as that’s what the rebellion in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be built on, according to the tagline here. It’s a simple, yet effective one-sheet for Edwards’ upcoming effort, and while it doesn’t really reveal a whole lot, it doesn’t need to.
By this point, we’ve seen everything we need to from the film and anything further will probably just result in spoilers. It’s getting to be a bit overkill, to be honest, so we’re happy that Disney is keeping things to a minimum here. Will this be the final piece of the puzzle in the marketing campaign? Likely not, but hopefully whatever we get next follows suit in not giving away too much.
Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will finally be with us on December 16th, 2016, without an opening crawl, and boasts a cast that includes Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, Ben Mendelsohn and more.
