After all the negative buzz that’s been surrounding Rogue One: A Star Wars Story lately, it makes sense that Disney would want to turn the tide by releasing a brand new trailer. Many expected it to drop during next week’s Star Wars Celebration in London, and now, we can confirm that that’s indeed going to be the case.
According to Making Star Wars, the new trailer will air on television on Friday, July 15th at 8pm EST on ABC. However, seeing as the Rogue One panel at the Star Wars Celebration is earlier that day, it’s likely that some of us may have already seen it by then.
There’s no word yet on what will be shown in the new trailer, but apparently it will be roughly 3 minutes in length, so we should get a fair amount of new footage. Hopefully it’s exciting enough to get us back on board with the film, as all of the troubling reports coming out of the set due to the reshoots and whatnot have made us question just how well this first spinoff is going to turn out.
Admittedly, the recent cover story by EW did ease our concerns just a bit, but until we see this new trailer, we’re going to remain cautiously optimistic about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
