So long as 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios’ box office juggernaut continues to pull in the numbers – Continental Drift reached $850 worldwide in 2012 – expect Scrat to continue to go through Hell and high water all to protect his precious acorn. In the latest trailer for Ice Age: Collision Course, that unflinching bond sends the cutesy saber-toothed squirrel to the stars.
Featuring the dulcet tones of famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, today’s snippet showcases just how quickly things go south for Scrat and his band of primordial companions. In activating an ancient alien mechanism, Scrat’s clumsy hero causes interplanetary chaos, inadvertently sending a massive meteor on a one-way path to planet Earth.
Directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu, Ice Age: Collision features a who’s who of voice acting talent.
