Are you ready for the return of Ralph?
Pegged to launch in March of next year, Disney’s animated sequel will now release under the moniker Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. Rich Moore is back behind the lens alongside Phil Johnston, who hashed out the original’s screenplay in tandem with Jennifer Lee of Frozen fame. He’s now been promoted to co-director, and will be overseeing a voice cast comprised of John C. Reilly (Ralph), Sarah Silverman (Vanellope von Schweetz), Jack McBrayer (Fix-It Felix) and Jane Lynch, who’s returning to reprise the role of the no-nonsense Sergeant Calhoun.
Though we haven’t seen much from the project just yet, Disney will no doubt begin to beef up its promotion of Wreck-It Ralph 2 in the coming months. But until that happens, fans can pour over the new promo above, which doesn’t give us any footage from the film itself, but much like The Incredibles 2 teaser we got earlier today, rings in 2018 in a humorous and cheeky way.
Plot-wise, details are still scarce when it comes to what we can expect from the sequel, but talking about his plans a while back, Moore said the following:
“Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”
Wreck-It Ralph 2 – or Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 as it’s now known – will boot online on March 9th, 2018. It makes for quite the mouthful, but aside from its lengthy title, are you excited to see Ralph and Vanellope back in action? Sound off in the comments section and let us know!
