All movie fans care about nowadays is cinematic universes. Characters popping up here and there to make comments and help out if they’re not too busy doing so in another film, crossing over and going between storylines and generally showing themselves to be part of this intricately-connected and vastly-established world – and don’t you forget it!
Enjoy, then, the recent news that both Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) will enter the frames of Captain America: The Winter Soldier for a brief amount of time, do something, and exit again, having brought massive smiles to the faces of moviegoers everywhere because, hey, what are they doing in this movie? It’s crazy!
This announcement comes just after the news that Frank Grillo has been cast as villain Crossbones. Maybe he’ll start showing up in other movies, too, perhaps at the end when the credits have finished rolling – that’s how they do this stuff now.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which will see Chris Evans back as the righteous superhero, is set to be released in theatres on April 4th, 2014.
What do you think about Nick Fury and Maria Hill making cameos? Did you expect it anyway?
