Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth will be teaming up yet again and this time, it will be for theater director Michael Grandage’s feature-film debut, Genius. Scripted by John Logan and based on A. Scott Berg’s novel, Max Perkins: Editor of Genius, the film will mark the fourth collaboration between the well-respected actors.

This week, audiences can catch Firth and Kidman in WWII drama The Railway Man. After that, they’ll be seen together in the live-action/CGI hybrid Paddington, as well as the thriller Before I Go To Sleep. As for Genius, we heard a while back that Firth and Fassbender were set to star in the film, but this is the first that we’re hearing of Kidman’s involvement. It makes sense though, given that her and Firth are starting to form what looks to be a promising working relationship.

“Once you develop a connection with somebody, it helps you from job to job. I think her versatility is extraordinary. It’s not just about the extraordinary results she produces, but also the choices she makes are a testament to the kind of mentality she has,” said Firth to NY Daily News.

For those unfamiliar with Berg’s novel, it follows ” literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Fassbender) and renowned editor Max Perkins (Firth), who developed a tender, complex friendship that changed the lives of both men forever.” No word yet on which role Kidman will be taking, but it will likely be the female lead.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a release date yet for Genius, but with the talent that’s involved, you can bet that it’s being positioned as an awards contender. I imagine it will hit sometime in late 2014.

Stay tuned as we’ll be sure to keep you posted when we hear more.
