Two of the stars of the movie who reprised their roles, David Yost (Blue Ranger) and Walter Emanuel Jones (Black Ranger), hadn’t been involved in the series in a long time but really enjoyed donning the Ranger uniforms a second time around.

According to Comicbook, the boys made sure to keep the door open. “I would definitely consider it, absolutely,” Jones said. Yost had a similar refrain: “I’m always open to the possibility, for sure.”

Jones went on to say that he saw potential in the series in the same another older franchise came to life.

“I really feel like that this has potential to be like Cobra Kai in the sense that there are lots of stories to be told, and we can go anywhere in the universe. We have multiverses…There’s been so many casts in so many different places and so many different situations with different powers and Zordons, and so forth and dimensions and galaxies. I think there’s just so much more we can do with it, and the fact that we’ve added jeopardy to the pot, can definitely may be something that the adult realm of fans will be very excited about.”

The hour-long nostalgia trip proved popular for Netflix and debuted in the streamer’s Top Ten, in third place, behind The Snowman and The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die. It has a fresh rating of 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score that’s one point higher.

The movie takes place thirty years after Zordon formed the team, and they have to deal with a familiar villain from the past. The movie captures the series cheesy vibe and melodramatic plot points, but that’s not a bad thing at all.

Good ratings and a top ten debut? Looks like there’s a good chance Yost and Jones could get their wish. We’ll keep you posted.
