See What’s On Pixar’s Mind With The New Inside Out Trailer

You can always count on Pixar to deliver something original, and rather brilliant. Of course, the studio makes its sequels - also brilliant - but the concepts it produces are, without exception, beautifully developed. The next one to arrive is Inside Out - and this idea is, frankly, next-level stuff. This idea doesn't just entertain children - it takes us inside the mind.

Check out the plot summary below:

“From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy-Award winning director Pete Docter (Monsters Inc, Up) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney Pixar’s original movie, Inside Out, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all – inside the mind.

“Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how to best navigate a new city, house and school.”

With a brief glimpse of some visual spectacle that is sure to astound once it is up on the big screen, this trailer suggests that Inside Out has all the elements that are beloved in Pixar movies – intelligent and heartfelt writing, fantastic visuals and perfect casting (Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan and John Ratzenberger). Moreover, the trailer gives us advance warning of the fact that, when Inside Out is released on June 19th 2015, everybody will want their inner monologue to be delivered by Amy Poehler.
