The First Poster For Lincoln Features A Somber Daniel Day-Lewis

With a mere two and a half months until Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln hits theaters, it’s a bit surprising that there’s been so little promotion for the film. That changes a bit today though, as Indie Wire has posted the first promotional poster for the presidential biopic.

The poster is entirely in black and white, spare a hint of copper coloring in the title, which adds to the somber look of the image of Daniel Day-Lewis. There really is no other information to be gained from this release, but hopefully this is the beginning of a stream of promotional pieces. Trailers usually arrive shortly after posters, so there is a good chance we’ll get to see one of those soon.

I’ve been interested in this film ever since I first heard it was in the works. When the cast, namely Day-Lewis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tommy Lee Jones, was announced, I was thrilled about what Spielberg had put together. That being said, I really can’t be overly excited until I’ve at least seen the trailer, but from everything we know already, this one looks like a winner.

Lincoln hits theaters on November 16th.
