Judging by this newly released red band trailer, Sabotage looks to be a bloody and brutal action film. When the original trailer dropped a few months ago, I was a bit on the fence. It looked fairly generic, despite the talent attached to it, and I wasn’t too sure that it would do much to help further Schwarzenegger’s comeback.

Now, however, after watching the red band trailer, Sabotage has quickly become one of my most anticipated films for next month. Wearing that R rating on its sleeve, the film sports brutal violence, tons of gory deaths and what looks like a healthy dose of sex and nudity. After starring in films like The Last Stand and Escape Plan, which were both rather tame, it’s nice to see Schwarzenegger getting back to his hard-R roots.

What’s really drawing me to this film though is the fact that Ayer is behind the camera. The director recently gave us the excellent End of Watch, which was one of my favorite films of 2012. He also wrote Training Day, another superb crime movie. If he can bring that same intensity and gritty realism to this flick (which from the looks of this trailer, he can), then I think we’ll be in for one hell of a ride.

Co-starring Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello, Mireille Enos (who actually looks to be the most badass of the bunch) and Josh Holloway, Sabotage will storm into theatres on March 28th, 2013.
