It’s been a disappointing few days for Marvel fans, and we’re not just talking about the cancellation of Daredevil. Just a couple of weeks ago, the internet seemed so sure that the all-important first trailer for Avengers 4 would be dropping before the end of the month, but as we enter this final day of November, it’s looking like Marvel Studios has other plans in mind. Nonetheless, while fan frustration mounts over the lack of footage from the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, several online leakers are now teasing that next week will deliver something even bigger than a first trailer.
Twitter user @thedailyspidey offered their assurance that the news goes beyond a simple a teaser, writing:
“whatever you guys think is coming soon, you’re wrong. it’s bigger and better.”
MCU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad then narrowed down the possibilities just a little bit with a message of his own:
“It’s not so much ‘news’ as a new movie or anything like that. But it’s a big deal and yes it’ll come.”
Conrad went on to claim that “It’s going to be CRAZY,” and that whatever is coming will exceed our expectations. As such, we’re inclined to believe that this is something related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole rather than just an Avengers 4 announcement.
We’ve certainly heard this kind of talk before, and after the let-down that was this trailer-free week, fans may be hesitant about getting their hopes up once more. Still, with directors Anthony and Joe Russo announced as presenters for this year’s Game Awards on Thursday, December 6th, the filmmaking pair certainly has the platform for a grand unveiling very soon, whatever it may be.
What’s more, many fans were already turning to the first few days of next month for their next potential teaser date, due in part to the release of the first issue of the Avengers 4 Prelude comic on December 5th. In light of these latest reports, the internet might be building itself up for disappointment all over again, but wherever the hype train takes us, we at least know that Marvel‘s Avengers 4 will be waiting at the end of it all, with the film hitting theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
