Lionsgate is really nailing its marketing campaign for this November’s franchise topper The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. The series has always had impressive artwork, but some of the promo materials that’s being turned around for this last chapter is the kind of stuff I could easily see popping up on college dorm walls for years to come.
The latest poster for the dystopian finale gives off a hardened, revolutionary vibe, with the famous mockingjay pin looming large over a decapitated bust of President Snow (Donald Sutherland). It’s a striking, potent image and one that’s sure to get fans riled up in anticipation.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 finds Jennifer Lawrence taking on the role of Katniss Everdeen one last time as the Tribute-turned-revolutionary leads rebel forces against Snow’s totalitarian guards in a battle to liberate the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem. It will be a fight marked with major loss for Katniss, as she fights to protect those closest to her against incredible dangers.
The supporting cast includes Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson as love interests Gale Hawthorne and Peeta Mellark, Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair, Julianne Moore as President Coin, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Willow Shields as Katniss’ sister Primrose and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, among many others.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 opens on November 20.
