Looking surprisingly cosy despite their gruesome fates in the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, the leading ladies of the franchise posed with Robert Englund for a group shot at the recent Flashback Weekend.
The image features Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Lisa Wilcox, Tuesday Knight, Brooke Theiss, Toy Newkirk, and Lisa Zane, with Wyss sharing the photo on Facebook. She also posted a bonus image of herself and Englund, and you can see both pics in the gallery below.
Langenkamp is perhaps the most well-known of the group, having appeared in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare as Nancy, and has recently admitted she’d love to return to the series. Wyss also appeared in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street as Tina, the first on-screen victim of Freddy Kruger, and still one of the more memorable deaths of the franchise.
Lisa Wilcox, meanwhile, rivals Nancy as one of Freddy’s chief antagonists, having appeared as Alice in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. By comparison, Tuesday Knight stepped into the role of Kristen, played by Patricia Arquette in Dream Warriors, for The Dream Master, and had a part in New Nightmare.
Brooke Theiss also made an appearance in Dream Master as Debbie, suffering a bug-related death that ranks among the series’ cruelest. Finally, rounding up the group, Toy Newkirk played Sheila in Dream Master, and has her asthma turned against her by Freddy, while Lisa Zane played Maggie in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, who discovers a disturbing connection to the dream demon.
Taken together, it’s great to see so many of the contributors to A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s success in one place, and happy to celebrate its legacy. We’ve recently seen an upswing in news about the horror franchise, too, with Crawl‘s Alexandre Aja possibly working on a reboot. In the meantime, anyone keen to catch up on Freddy and the Elm Street women can enjoy the first six movies in the series when they arrive on Shudder this August.
