Rumors of ‘The Marvels’ trailer arriving imminently sends MCU fans into meltdown

Strap in, Twitter.

For those of you that routinely avoid social media (respect, by the way), allow us to catch you up to speed. It’s very trendy to hate the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five based on a single misfire in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and it’s even cooler to absolutely hate a film that hasn’t even gotten its trailer yet.

Such has been just two of the hurdles faced by The Marvels, the franchise’s final feature film release of 2023 that’s set to unite Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan together, much to what’s no doubt the unprecedented joy of one Iman Vellani.

In any case, if the discourse has been as spicy as it’s been prior to even a trailer (as seems to be the case with most all female-led properties, for some mysterious reason), then we can only imagine the back and forth that’s going to spring up once a trailer does drop. With some substantial rumors throwing around a trailer date of April 11, Twitter is already gearing up for what will probably be the most exhilarating and exhausting Tuesday of the month.

Specifically, the internet is bracing itself for a particular brand of reactions, the curators of which we assume already have a series of sexist Tweets pre-typed on a collection of burner phones.

That’s not to say that there isn’t more favorable hype waiting in the wings if this prophecy turns out to be true. Indeed, giving us a taste of what exactly the film will entail, including Zawe Ashton’s enigmatic villain, is more than enough reason for us to get hyped.

Of course, rumors are just rumors, so Twitter might be getting wound up a bit prematurely (which isn’t an uncommon practice for the website, but we digress). However, if a Carol Danvers-themed explosion seems to take over the internet tomorrow, we all know why.

The Marvels will release to theaters on Nov. 10.
