New Rumors Surface On Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War And Doctor Strange

The countdown to Marvel's next summer tentpole has begun. In case you've been hiding out in a cave and have somehow missed the avalanche of trailers, TV spots, clips, posters and stills then know this: Avengers: Age Of Ultron is mere weeks away from being unleashed into theaters across the planet. The sequel to 2012's billion-dollar superhero outing is expected to blow away all previous box office records, and firmly cement Marvel into the history books. After that, it's all eyes on the next phase in their juggernaut series and according to JoBlo, there's still plenty of surprises in store.

Turning now to Ant-Man‘s successor in the MCU, Captain America: Civil War, and as you may have guessed that talk has turned to the roster of characters expected to appear. Production has begun on the movie in Atlanta so there’s a strong chance that set photos, call sheets, and other tidbits may emerge shortly. Until then, JoBlo’s intel posits that the new line-up expected to join Captain America and Iron Man in their tet-a-tet now includes a couple of newly-rumored names:

Some we already know about, including Cap (obviously), Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye. We can also confirm the recently rumored Scarlet Witch, as well as The Vision, War Machine, and even Ant-Man.

Ant-Man, eh? That’s not half of it. The site goes on to list what those opposing teams will look like… and one particularly intriguing fight sequence:

So far it looks like Cap, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Falcon vs. Iron Man, War Machine, The Vision, and Ant-Man, with the Scarlet Witch and Black Panther somewhere in the mix. Oh, and expect to see Ant-Man take on the Giant-Man form in battle.

And who’s to blame for the entire mess? Apparently, in another step away from the original comics, Crossbones will play a major role in an inciting event that leads to the government introducing the Superhero Registration Act. Also, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther character is poised to take a more governing role than originally thought…
