Here’s What Ryan Reynolds Would Look Like As Wally West’s Flash

Ryan Reynolds hasn't had a shortage of comic book roles over his career - see: Deadpool, Green Lantern, Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity - but recently, he revealed that he would've loved to have ticked off another one. The Canadian star was speaking at the panel for Deadpool 2: The Super Duper Cut during this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con when he told those in attendance that he used to want to portray the Flash. Specifically, the Wally West version.

Seeing as Wally’s classically depicted as a joker, it’s not hard to imagine how Reynolds would have played the role. Still, we don’t need to imagine it any longer as fan artist Boss Logic has now mocked up an image of what the actor would look like as Wally’s Flash.

As you can see below, he based his work on the character’s updated red suit from the recent Rebirth comics. Of course, he’s also given Reynolds Wally’s traditional flaming red hair – which seems to suit him.

Even though Boss Logic’s latest piece of work shows that he could look the part of the Flash, Reynolds has already admitted that this ship has probably sailed for him. He’s right, too, as the actor nearly got his wish on two separate occasions. Back in 2005, Warner Bros. was planning a standalone film for the Scarlet Speedster and Reynolds pushed to get hired. However, the project never came to be. Then, in 2008, he was lined up to voice the hero in a video game that, again, never materialized.

At least Ryan Reynolds has now found the superhero role that best fits him in the form of the Merc with a Mouth. And if you were a fan of his performance in Deadpool 2, you can catch 15 minutes of all-new additional material in the upcoming release of the Super Duper Cut, arriving on Blu-ray on August 21st.
