After covering New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day, Garry Marshall will next set his sights on Mother’s Day. Set to be released next April, the ensemble comedy has now added another star in the form of Sarah Chalke.
The actress is best known for Scrubs, but also had a starring role in How I Met Your Mother and is a member of Rick And Morty‘s voice cast. In Mother’s Day, Chalke will play Gabi, a woman who, along with her partner Max (Cameron Esposito), is raising their son.
The movie has a great ensemble thus far, with names like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, Timothy Olyphant, Shay Mitchell, Britt Robertson, Jack Whitehall, Aasif Mandvi, Ella Anderson and Loni Love all on board. There aren’t many other 2016 films with a cast as starry as Mother’s Day, and the talent involved should definitely ensure a decent box office haul.
There aren’t too many plot details available at the moment for this one, but it’s going to follow a similar format to Marshall’s previous holiday themed movies by presenting intertwining stories about the lives of several mothers as the title holiday approaches. If you were a fan of the director’s past efforts, expect more of the same here.
We’ll keep you posted once we hear more, but for now, tell us, do you have any interest in checking out Mother’s Day?
