Ted 2, the sequel to 2012’s teddy bear gross-out comedy, is gearing up to be one of next year’s starriest affairs. Director Seth MacFarlane looks set to top the cameo-fest leanings of the first outing, and took to Twitter today to celebrate his good fortune.

It had already been reported that Morgan Freeman had joined the cast, as an “iconic civil rights lawyer who comes into the picture when Ted needs to resolve some legal issues.” Now, we have confirmation straight from the bear’s mouth that Freeman is definitely onboard.

Oh, and so is Liam Neeson. There’s no inkling of the breadth of Neeson’s role so far, but having such a massive name involved could indicate that similarly to Freeman, he’s in a smallish supporting part. Or, could he be one of the many cameos that are said to surpass the glitzy pull of the first? After all, the first movie pulled in a colossal $550 million at the global box office on a modest budget. If the stakes are raised, chances are, MacFarlane’s got a bit more sway with regards to which big brand stars he’ll incorporate into Ted’s next venture. We’re hoping Neeson’s involvement has him pit in a Bryan Mills type of role.

The two newest additions will join returning lead, Mark Wahlberg, as the pint-sized furball’s thunder buddy, John. Following the events of the last flick, it seems his happy-ever-after with Lori (Mila Kunis) didn’t turn out quite as expected. The love interest duties this time around will be taken by franchise newbie, Amanda Seyfried.

Ted 2 opens on June 26th, 2015.
