Though Marvel Studios could still surprise us, the upcoming Avengers: Endgame currently looks set to be Tony Stark’s final outing in the MCU, and if the Avengers: Infinity War sequel really wants to bring Iron Man’s journey full circle then we can surely expect a few callbacks to the hero’s past adventures.
A recent leak based on the film’s tie-in LEGO sets, for instance, alleges that we’ll be seeing a few previous versions of the Iron Man suit. Specifically, it’s said that the pic will feature the return of the Mark 1 that Tony built in a cave back in 2008’s Iron Man. Also reportedly making a comeback is the Mark 5, which we first saw Tony wear during the racetrack fight with Ivan Vanko in Iron Man 2. Lastly, it’s said that the Mark 41 which featured as part of the Iron Legion in Iron Man 3 will also be showing up.
Though all or most of these suits were thought to be destroyed in the events of Iron Man 3, the leak suggests that they’ll probably feature as part of the previously rumored hall of armors LEGO set, so maybe we’ll find that they’re still in tact after all. Either way, assuming this report is legit, it doesn’t sound like the suits will factor all that prominently into Endgame, perhaps only showing up as brief nods to Tony’s three solo movies.
In any case, it’s a safe bet that Stark will be adding one or two new outfits to his collection, with one leak from a couple of weeks ago suggesting that he might finally put on the Mark 85 from the comics. That’s still to be confirmed, but we’ll see what look he’s rocking for Marvel’s Phase 3 finale when Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas on April 26th, 2019.
