Ever since Tony Stark made a quick appearance in the closing moments of The Incredible Hulk, we’ve grown accustomed to seeing Marvel characters cameo in movies belonging to others. Even the studio’s most recent two offerings, those being Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther, played host to memorable guest shots made by Doctor Strange and Bucky Barnes, respectively, thus carrying on the tradition.
Well, with moviegoers still yet to get over their cases of Wakandamania, many are wondering where else a technological prodigy such as Shuri could pop up next. One natural fit in the minds of some True Believers is that of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, as Peter Parker is quite the geek himself.
Pondering the same thing was Variety, who recently caught up with actress Letitia Wright and asked if a Spider-Man/Shuri spinoff could be in the cards. Here’s what she had to say:
“I think we met last year at an Interview magazine shoot, we met then. We clicked. I didn’t see Spider-Man at the time but when I saw it I loved it, and I loved Tom Holland’s work in the movie Impossible. His performance was amazing in that so I’ve been a supporter for his work since then so when we got to chop it up together and really meet within a Marvel type of environment it was fun and we really clicked and I guess a lot of people really love that so if it’s meant to happen it will happen and I think that will be a really fun event.”
While I don’t imagine random characters will co-headline movies together anytime soon, I could definitely see Shuri playing a decently sizable role in Spidey’s next outing, especially when it’s being said that it’ll take place around the globe. Likewise, the Webhead could make a brief appearance in Black Panther 2 as well. You never know.
Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 arrives in theaters – with or without Shuri – on July 5, 2019.
