If you watched the opening ceremony last night for the 2012 Summer Olympics then you likely caught the new, explosive TV spot for the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall, as well as the humorous and witty clip featuring Mr. Bond and the Queen.
Put together by famed British director Danny Boyle, the opening ceremonies were very well done. Though there were many highlights throughout the night, for me, the best part was all the James Bond footage. Fans who tuned in got two new videos to feast their eyes on, the first being a specially shot clip by Boyle that features everyone’s favorite secret agent and the second being a quick 30 second TV spot.
Both videos have made their way online and both are well worth a watch. The spot, though it uses mostly recycled footage, offers a brief glimpse of the villain Silva, played by Javier Bardem, as well as a couple quick shots of some new scenes, one in particular that stood out features a train being torn apart.
As for the clip, it sees Bond arriving at Buckingham Palace to escort Queen Elizabeth II to the ceremony. Of course, it’s not part of the film but it was a fun and witty nod to fans of the series who are eagerly anticipating the film’s Fall release.
Skyfall will open in the U.K. on October 26th and in the U.S. on November 9th. You can check out both videos below.
