Between Tom Holland’s MCU alter ego turning to dust and the recent Venom movie seeing Peter Parker’s old foe go solo, it seems that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has the monopoly on web-slingers, and this vibrant new batch of promo art puts several of these Spider-People in the spotlight.
As well as sharing a stylish international poster for the upcoming animation (which is apparently going by the title of Spider-Man: New Generation in France), Sony has released an eye-popping array of images that showcase the dazzling visuals we can expect to see in this highly anticipated work.
Among the featured characters is the gun-toting Spider-Man Noir, who’ll be voiced the legendary Nicolas Cage. Also in the cast is Hailee Steinfeld, whose outing as Spider-Gwen comes to us just one week before her starring turn in Bumblebee. And on top of that, you have Kimiko Glenn as SP//dr, John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, and Jake Johnson as regular old Peter Parker. Front and center on the new poster, however, is Miles Morales, with Shameik Moore’s character assuming the Spider-Man identity in a timeline where Peter has passed away.
That’s a lot of wall-crawlers for one movie, but to balance things out, it looks like these heroes will have multiple famous villains to go up against, including Liev Schreiber’s Kingpin, who strikes an imposing figure in his new image. While we’ve much to learn about the film’s story, it’s a popular prediction that Kingpin will be the one to bring these various worlds together through his use of a super-collider.
We’ll find out what craziness ensues from this meeting of web-slingers when Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into cinemas on December 14th.
