The comic book movie age is well and truly upon us. Casting news, social media images, leaked set photos, rumored plot synopses'... there's such a barrage of information surrounding upcoming adaptations that it's hard to separate fact from fiction. When it comes to the actors involved in those productions, it's even more tricky knowing how to sniff out the truth. Take for example this latest response from Halt And Catch Fire's Mackenzie Davis.

The comic book movie age is well and truly upon us. Casting news, social media images, leaked set photos, rumored plot synopses… there’s such a barrage of information surrounding upcoming adaptations that it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. When it comes to the actors involved in those productions, it’s even more tricky knowing how to sniff out the truth. Take for example this latest response from Halt And Catch Fire‘s Mackenzie Davis.

It’s been rumored that she’s up for the role of Domino in Deadpool 2. Of course, we’ve learned that until official sources verify rumored casting calls, you’re unlikely to get anything concrete from actors involved. It’s understandable, too, as a large majority are contracted to keep quiet by the studios, which is what makes me wonder about Davis’ recent interview with GQ, wherein she’s asked if she’s starring in the upcoming sequel.

Here’s her response:

“No! [laughs] It’s very interesting. People keep sending me printouts being like, “This is so cool!” And I’m like, “Right? I also think it’s cool! But it’s not true! I mean. I’d love to keep the ruse going. It’s sort of cool that people think I’m doing Deadpool. But no! I don’t have any news to share. I wish I did!”

Those printouts she’s referring to are likely fan art that’s been circulating across the web since it was first rumored – all the way back on August 13 – that she was in contention for the part. Even though she doesn’t flat out deny it, it sounds like there might be a shred of hope that she’ll snag the role. As I mentioned above, actors ironing out deals are seldom permitted to discuss them.

While there’s no firm date for the film to enter principal photography, producer Simon Kinberg believes cameras on the sequel will start rolling early next year. So with that being said, it could be some time until we receive any official confirmation on these Deadpool 2 casting rumors.
