During the project’s trip through Europe, we got a look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Peter’s next foe Mysterio, as well as some images of Spidey’s new stealth suit. Back in New York, meanwhile, we saw a ton of material showing the titular hero spending time with Michelle “MJ” Jones, suggesting that the almost inevitable romance between this pair could play a big part in the story.

But now it’s time for something more official, as Sony has rolled out the very first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, adding to what’s already been a hugely exciting month or so given that we’ve also seen new previews for Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame recently. But today is Spidey’s turn to take the spotlight and you can feast your eyes on the first bit of footage from the sequel up above.

This being just the initial preview for Far From Home, we don’t get a ton of plot details, but the basic gist of the story is there and it certainly looks like the studio’s captured that same fun and high spirited vibe which made Homecoming such a hit. Not to mention that the European setting will surely add a bit of spice into the film, as Spidey swings throughout the continent fending off his foes in a variety of different countries. Oh, and as for Mysterio, his costume looks great and we’re thrilled to finally see him rocking the fishbowl helmet.

All in all, this seems like a terrific follow-up to Homecoming, which was certainly one of the more enjoyable MCU entries to date. And though some may say the numerous villains that Spider-Man: Far From Home plans to introduce may be too much (after all, remember what happened in Spider-Man 3?), there’s more than enough on display here to get fans properly excited for Peter Parker’s next big screen outing – following Endgame, that is.
