Even when they’re not busy reflecting on what could have been in Captain America: Civil War (spoilers: it involves zombie-like beings) or the fact that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be down in the dumps before Avengers: Infinity War rolls into theaters, co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo tend to be bankable resources for journos out to mine any and all tidbits relating to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The latest nugget of superhero information hails from ComicBook.com, who quizzed the filmmaking siblings about their thoughts on Jon Watts’ upcoming standalone pic, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Penciled in for a primetime release in July and with a truly massive ensemble cast in tow, early signs coming out of Homecoming are certainly positive. But going one step further, Anthony Russo told the outlet that he believes the Tom Holland-fronted actioner has the potential to become the best Spidey movie to date.

It’s a ringing endorsement, particularly considering that Anthony Russo was one half of the creative duo that fired Winter Soldier and Civil War – arguably two of the finest Marvel movies yet – to international success. But in terms of Spider-Man‘s own cinematic track record, the director teased that Watts’ picture may well emulate Sam Raimi’s beloved Spider-Man 2.

“Joe and I love Jon Watts. We think he’s an incredibly talented filmmaker, super bright guy. I think the tone and the direction that he’s heading in that movie are fantastic, I think it has the potential to be the best Spider-Man yet, and I know that’s saying a lot because perhaps my favorite comic book movie of all time is Raimi’s Spider-Man 2.”

Time will tell whether Anthony Russo is on to a winner, but the filmmaker’s comments are exciting nonetheless. Joining Holland for the reboot are Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Logan Marshall-Green, Donald Glover, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Michael Mando, Bokeem Woodbine, Abraham Attah, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Garcelle Beauvais, Tiffany Espensen, Angourie Rice and Zendaya. The latter of whom was recently at the center of a controversy that drew in both James Gunn and Stan Lee himself.

Buoyed by a cracking debut in Civil War, look for Tom Holland to swing into action once more when Spider-Man: Homecoming lands in theaters on July 7, 2017.
