Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon admitted that they’d love to take their live-action talents to the animated realm to make cameo appearances in two-part animated extravaganza Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and there’s no reason why it couldn’t happen.
The first half of the latest multiversal adventure for the spandex-clad arachnid enthusiast arrives in October, and it’s set to double down on the volume of deep cut Spideys from comic book lore that made the first installment such a riot.
The bar has been raised significantly for Across the Spider-Verse, then, but we’ve got every confidence the creative team will be able to sail over it with the greatest of ease.
Speaking to ComicBook, a guest appearance for Holland was floated, with producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller offering a response that was positively dripping in sarcasm.
“That’s an interesting idea that has never occurred to us separately. So thanks for incepting that, you can take full credit if something like that were to ever happen.”
Miller recently called out No Way Home for stealing his idea, after previously revealing he’d pitched Sony a gag that featured Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, only to be told by the studio that it was too soon. Obviously, the powers that be had their own plans in store at that point, but Across the Spider-Verse has plenty in the tank to send audiences home happy without having to reunite the Holy Trinity of Peter Parkers in double quick time.
