Star Wars: Episode IX Rumor Teases The Fate Of General Hux

Since the cast and crew at Lucasfilm are keeping mostly tight-lipped about the developments to come in next year’s Star Wars: Episode IX, fans have been relying on some dubious intel to get a better idea of what to expect from J.J. Abrams’ upcoming trilogy-closer. But while this new Reddit report should be taken with the usual grain of salt, it at least paints a more plausible picture than the outlandish predictions we’re used to getting from the Star Wars rumor mill, while suggesting an unfortunate fate for General Hux.

Reddit user Temiriblagg1 claims to have been an extra on the Pinewood Studios set, where the cast was said to be part of a guerilla militia – something which Oscar Isaac did indeed mention will play a role in next year’s release. What’s more, the scene is said to include actors Dominic Monaghan and Naomi Ackie, the latter of whom is allegedly playing Lando’s daughter Veranada (Vera) Calrissian. But while it seems to be all Resistance fighters and allies thus far, an unusual twist arrives in the form of a kidnapped Hux, who’s brought into the scene with a bag over his head, and cowers under the interrogation of Monaghan’s character.

The moment slots in nicely with previous rumors that Domhnall Gleeson’s character will ultimately betray the First Order, which could either be taken as a sign that this old hearsay might indeed be true, or that Temiriblagg1 is simply building on previous reports for the sake of their own fraudulent story. Still, with Kylo Ren assuming the role of Supreme Leader in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it certainly looks like the ongoing tension between this pair is going to build up to something, and Hux could well be a petty enough figure to harm the First Order just to make Adam Driver’s character look bad.

In any case, you probably shouldn’t expect things to end well for either of these villains when Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
