For seasoned collectors and Star Wars aficionados, Force Friday is Christmas.
It is, after all, the day in which major toy manufacturers begin rolling out a suite of delightful products and collector’s items inspired by Lucasfilm’s galaxy far, far away, and given The Last Jedi is next to tumble off the production line in December, many of the tie-in figures featured have been based on the sequel’s roster of characters – human and otherwise.
That was certainly the case earlier today, when Hasbro posted details of its suitably massive toy range for Force Friday II. From Executioner Stormtroopers (AKA the First Order Judicial) to up-close previews of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and his super-stylish Elite Praetorian Guards, there was a lot to dig into.
Not to be outdone by Hasbro, it’s now LEGO’s turn to assume the spotlight, after the company today showcased its wares for Force Friday II. There are some real gems to be found via the gallery below, too, including Chewie with bowcaster firmly in tow, the much-touted TIE Silencer, and what appears to be the First Order’s Mandator IV class Dreadnought.
That beefed-up Star Destroyer is a mobile command center of epic proportions, so we assume it’ll play a prominent role in The Last Jedi‘s space battles. On the ground, the Resistance will be waging war against the remodeled AT-M6s. Often referred to as ‘gorilla walkers’ for their simian like stance, each four-legged beast has a deadly laser cannon mounted on its back. And we’re only scratching the surface.
On December 15th, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will ring in the next chapter in the beloved Skywalker saga, and we can hardly wait. Force Friday II, meanwhile, gets underway tomorrow, and writer-director Rian Johnson has since taken to Twitter to assure fans that the imminent merchandise line contains absolutely no spoilers for the December sequel – unless you count ship designs, that is.
