The Hollywood Reporter has released a few new details concerning David Ayer’s upcoming Suicide Squad film. The DC property about supervillains given a chance at redemption is set to begin production early next year, and has attracted quite a bit of Hollywood talent.

Previous names attached to the film are Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Tom Hardy, Jai Courtney, and Jared Leto, while Kerry Washington and Jon Bernthal have been rumored for parts as well. Furthermore, Jesse Eisenberg is reportedly reprising his role as Lex Luthor, who will first appear on the big screen a few months prior to Suicide Squad in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

According to today’s new report, Robbie, Hardy, Courtney, and Leto have all entered the “final stages of talks,” presumably for the previously-reported roles of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Col. Rick Flagg and the Joker, respectively.

Ayer will be bringing the film to Pinewood Toronto Studios in February, under the fake working title Bravo 14, and start filming from mid-April to September.

Meanwhile, Leto has been questioned numerous times about his part in the film, and when pressured for confirmation has instead told reporters that he’s been sworn to keep his mouth shut. In an interview with MTV, he addressed the rumors by pointing toward another high-profile project he was once a part of:

“You know, there’s a film called Fight Club, my friend. And you know what the first rule is, don’t you?”

So, take those little comments as you will, but it seems to me that this new report all-but confirms Leto’s involvement, and with filming set to begin in just a couple months, we should hopefully hear official confirmation sooner rather than later.

Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 5th, 2016.
