David Ayer and his motley crew of anti-heroes are closing in on the finish line with Suicide Squad, with the director taking to Twitter (thanks, CBM) to reveal that post-production work on Warner Bros.’ villainous standalone feature is almost complete.
With coloring and sound mixing work all but wrapped up, Ayer reveals that it won’t be too much longer before the studio is in possession of a complete end product and, in the words of the filmmaker himself, there’s “nothing like it out there.”
Squad is completed! Finished final mix and coloring. Now it’s off to the lab and then the world. Nothing like it out there. It.Is.a.Beast.

Elsewhere, now that the promotional campaign for Suicide Squad is in full swing, the official Facebook page has shared the music video for “Sucker for Pain,” an all-new collaboration between Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Imagine Dragons. Why are we embedding a music video in a post about David Ayer’s anti-hero feature? Well, because at least part of the snippet appears to have been shot on Warner Bros.’ interior Belle Reve set.
Suicide Squad will unleash anarchy on August 5. Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Violet Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Ben Affleck all feature.
