It’s been a busy week for Margot Robbie. Not only has the Suicide Squad actress hatched a Harley Quinn spinoff movie, replete with a handful of DC heroines such as Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Birds of Prey, but Variety brings word that Robbie is also in line to join Domhnall Gleeson in Goodbye Christopher Robin.

Simon Curtis (My Week With Marilyn) is the director behind the pic, telling the true-life story of A.A. Milne, the creator responsible for Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet and scores of fond childhood memories. Setting up shop at Fox Searchlight, it’s understood Robbie is circling the role of Milne’s wife, Dorothy de Sélincourt.

At the heart of Goodbye Christopher Robin, though, is the troubled relationship between Milne and his son, Robin. Indeed, during the early 1900s, A.A. Milne served in The Great War, and used his downtime on the frontline to nurture his flair for writing. But upon his homecoming, the scribe was inspired by his intimate connection with Robin to create much of the famous mascots that we known and love – including arguably his most successful creation, Winnie the Pooh, who was based on Robin’s toy.

Beyond Goodbye Christopher Robin, Gleeson has lined up National Lampoon origins movie A Futile and Stupid Gesture at Netflix, The Little Stranger and the Tom Cruise-fronted narcotics thriller, Mena. Meanwhile, you can look for Margot Robbie to cause chaos as the inimitable Harley Quinn when Suicide Squad opens on August 5.
