While fans of a certain cult fantasy series have to wait months to know if their favorite Netflix titles will continue, the streamer has gone and basically announced a new installment of one of its biggest action movie franchises. Just one day after its streaming debut, Extraction 2, star Chris Hemsworth has “let slip” that Extraction 3 is already on the horizon.

The Australian star had the honor of opening Netflix’s first in-person TUDUM event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, kicking off the celebration by unpacking the ins and outs of the Extraction sequel with director Sam Hargrave. To the delight of the whooping crowd, Hemsworth ended his segment of the evening by sharing “between you and me” that talks have already begun about the possibility of making Extraction 3.

To say this doesn’t come as a massive surprise would be putting it lightly. 2020’s original blew audiences away and early signs suggest the new one is set to go down just as well with viewers. Now that Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake has been brought back from the (apparent) dead, anything can happen in this increasingly OTT franchise so it’s not a shock that the end isn’t in sight.

Plus, with Hargrave admitting that he’s entirely open to being swallowed up by the Marvel machine, it’s just possible that his fruitful collaboration with Hemsworth could even extend into the MCU. Could the pair work together on Thor 5? Who knows, but Extraction 3 looks set to be their next partnership.
