Talking To The Nominees Of The 66th Annual Writers Guild Of America Awards

While I wouldn't say that they are the most under-appreciated group in Hollywood, writers are often overlooked. They usually don't get as much of the spotlight as say, directors or actors, and you'd be hard pressed to find an average moviegoer who can name the scribe who penned the screenplay of the film that he/she just watched.

While I wouldn’t say that they are the most under-appreciated group in Hollywood, writers are often overlooked. They usually don’t get as much of the spotlight as say, directors or actors, and you’d be hard pressed to find an average moviegoer who can name the scribe who penned the screenplay of the film that he/she just watched.

Thankfully, there are organizations like the Writers Guild of America who, among other things, honor the most creative and intelligent minds working in Hollywood. This past Saturday, the Guild held their annual awards ceremony and while we’ve already brought you a complete list of winners, today we have something else to share with you.

Prior to the beginning of the awards ceremony, the nominees (and a couple of special guests) walked the red carpet at the Edison Ballroom in NYC, and we were there to cover the event. Speaking to Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street), Danny Strong (The Butler) and Joe Weisberg (The Americans), we got the full scoop on some of the year’s most well written pieces of entertainment. Each writer had tons to share and if you’re at all interested in the writing process, you’ll definitely want to hear what these three creative geniuses have to say.

Check it all out in the video below and let us know who some of your favorite Hollywood writers are in the comments section.
