While Terminator: Dark Fate is still almost seven months away from release, IGN has given us a taste of the action to come with six new photos that show off the main players in Tim Miller’s sci-fi sequel.
The first figure you’ll see in the gallery below is Birds of Passage actress Natalia Reyes as Dani Ramos. Right now, details on Reyes’ character are still in short supply, but we’ll be seeing her alongside franchise regulars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who’s set to reprise his role as the T-800, as well as the human basis for the famed cybernetic organism. And speaking of returning players, Linda Hamilton is making her long-awaited comeback as Sarah Connor.
Meanwhile, we have Rock of Ages and Luis Miguel star Diego Boneta as Miguel Ramos, followed by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Gabriel Luna as another Terminator. And last in the gallery is Blade Runner 2049 actress Mackenzie Davis, who looks set to make her mark on another classic sci-fi property in the role of soldier-assassin Grace.
Just as the cast boasts of a mix of returning talent and franchise newcomers, Dark Fate shows a similar combination behind the camera. On directing duties is Deadpool helmsman Tim Miller, who also shares story credits with James Cameron. Speaking of which, the upcoming film is the first in the series to have a producing credit from the Avatar director since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
It’s therefore only fitting that the pic is ignoring the events of every Terminator sequel released since the first two movies, which remain the only two entries in the series that most of us can agree were worth watching. It’s been a shaky couple of decades for the franchise, but we’ll find out if Cameron and Miller can put the saga back on track when Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1st, 2019.
