New Terminator: Dark Fate Poster Shows Us A World After Judgement Day

This morning saw the drop of a whole batch of never-before-seen Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker photos, but it’s not the only major science fiction franchise today to receive a new look. The first poster for Terminator: Dark Fate, the sixth entry in the series, hit the web as well and it already looks better than the last three Terminator movies combined.

The poster is relatively simple, featuring Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor walking down an empty highway amongst the burnt orange desert sky. Wearing intimidating shades and armed to the teeth, Hamilton somehow manages to appear even more threatening than Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s T-800 looked on the first Terminator poster.

But more than anything else, it’s the film’s tagline, a call back to universally beloved T2: Judgment Day, that gives me goosebumps:

“Welcome to the day after Judgement Day.”

Gabriel Luna, Mackenzie Davis and Arnold Schwarzenegger will join Hamilton and fill out the rest of the cast, with the latter reprising his role as a younger T-800 thanks to a little help from the digital effects department.

The poster also points out the return of James Cameron, the director the first two (and arguably only good) films in the Terminator series, who’s stepping in with a producing and ‘story by’ credit. Deadpool’s Tim Miller has taken over directing duties, however, as Cameron is still busy working on his four upcoming Avatar sequels.

Be sure to check back in with us, as the first trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate should hit the web tomorrow, giving fans an even better look at the highly anticipated sequel before its November 1st release.
