‘The Flash’ star Grant Gustin knows exactly what he’s doing by crashing ‘Superman: Legacy’ chat

Let the unfounded speculation commence!

Grant Gustin might’ve recently ended his nine-season run as the Scarlet Speedster when The CW’s The Flash ended this past spring, but it seems he’s not going to wash his hands of the DC universe altogether. Right now, the DC brand is about to undergo a major relaunch thanks to James Gunn, with the shiny, new DCU taking off with 2025’s Superman: Legacy. And Gustin knows just what he’s doing by expressing interest in the movie on social media.

The Superman Instagram account hyped up Legacy this weekend by encouraging fans to read three seminal Supes comic book storylines — namely, All-Star Superman, Superman: Brainiac, and Superman: Birthright. The post even claims that all three are influences on Gunn’s new film, which is a rather big deal on its own. Nevertheless, Gustin stole the show when he waded into the chat to drop a simple two-letter comment that left fans excited over nothing.

Gustin, it should be noted, is a lifelong Superman fan, so this probably shouldn’t be taken as anything other than a DC lover, just like the rest of us being excited for the reboot and needing no encouragement to read some Superman comics. Having said that, Gustin may well have been having a little fun here with those still desperate for him to make some kind of movie crossover, given that the long-hoped-for cameo in The Flash film never happened.

Gunn has always done his best to satisfy DC TV fans, what with his recent promise that Doom Patrol‘s final episodes haven’t been Batgirl-ed, so who knows, maybe Gustin still has the potential to appear on the big screen. But for now, let’s not let this “OK” KO our expectations for Superman: Legacy.
