Additional photography for The Predator is now underway, and it seems Shane Black and 20th Century Fox are on the verge of releasing the first teaser trailer.
At least, that’s according to Fred Dekker, who offered up some fresh intel on the long-delayed reboot via Facebook. Turns out The Predator has relocated to Vancouver for some last-minute reshoots, after Dekker confirmed that the creative team is currently in the midst of capturing some “touch-ups” for the R-rated scarefest.
That tells us that the additional photography involves dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s of The Predator, as opposed to capturing entirely new sequences of humankind coming into contact with an extra-terrestrial threat. And a nasty one at that.
Alas, with production still in flux, Dekker was unable to share any concrete plot details – he simply confirmed that the body count beyond that electric fence is “alarming.” Brace yourself, folks; there will be blood. The post also contained the following note: “And yes, a teaser trailer will be coming soon…”
On the casting front, Fox’s reboot will see the likes of Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Edward James Olmos, Alfie Allen and Yvonne Strahovski come up against a swarm of hunter aliens in a bustling suburban setting. Think Predator 2, only with more humor.
Shane Black and his cavalcade of ugly motherfuckers will be with us later this year, after Fox decided to push its long-gestating Predator reboot for the fourth time – all the way back to September 14th, 2018, though we’re quietly confident that Black’s redo will be worth the wait.
