You’ll never see him coming. But at least now we know when to expect him.
‘Him’ being The Predator, the ugliest motherfucker in all of cinema who’s about to stage a second coming in September – September 14th, to be specific, which is technically the fourth release date reserved by 20th Century Fox.
Yes, Shane Black’s R-rated reboot has been a long time coming – too long, perhaps – but there is now light at the end of the tunnel, as CinemaCon plans to host the inaugural teaser for The Predator ahead of its online release next month.
That’s according to Black himself (h/t Screen Rant), who took to Twitter to post yet another status report on his gestating monster movie, which recently relocated to Vancouver for some last-minute reshoots, after screenwriter Fred Dekker confirmed that the creative team is currently in the midst of capturing some “touch-ups” for the R-rated scarefest.
Exactly what those reshoots will entail remains to be seen, but it’s not uncommon for a blockbuster like The Predator to set aside some time for additional photography in the weeks and months leading up to release – just look at Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will hope to replicate the success of Rogue One when it zooms into theaters next month.
Via Twitter:
Whoops — the teaser that drops this month is for Cinemacon only… THEN it goes to theaters. My bad. Patience. Go rent INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY, meantime. Great stuff.

Beyond the elusive aliens, the movie’s human cast is headed up by Logan actor Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane.
The Predator strikes on September 14th, by which point we should have a better understanding of the R-rated carnage that Shane Black and Fred Dekker have rustled up.
