“Never underestimate the kindness of strangers.”
It’s going on 10 years since the arrival of Bryan Bertino’s cult horror hit, The Strangers, but in only a few weeks’ time, those masked hoodlums – better known as Dollface, Pin-Up Girl and the Man in the Mask – will return to haunt our dreams.
That’s right, The Strangers: Prey At Night is now beginning to rear its big, ugly head over the horizon, and in a last-ditch attempt to drum up excitement, Fandango has today premiered the sequel’s chilling second trailer. It’s a little longer than the first (122 seconds over the original, 60-second preview), so if you’re wanting to preserve every ounce of tension – don’t forget about the jump scares, either! – until March 9th, perhaps it’s best to skip this one for the time being?
Granted, it’s fairly light on story details, as we see Christina Hendricks’ family fall into the clutches of The Strangers, three masked killers who will test every ounce of their resolve.
Behind the lens, Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) has taken over directorial duties in lieu of Bertino, who’s still credited for Prey at Night‘s screenplay, alongside Ben Ketai. It’s one that largely unfolds on a “secluded mobile home park,” which is really just asking for trouble…
A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive.
Aviron Pictures will unleash a trio of masked psychopaths when The Strangers: Prey at Night begins screening (and we begin screaming!) on March 9th.
