A little over 2 months after the release of Avengers: Endgame, one would think that all the questions fans had after watching it would be answered. Once again, the Marvel fandom has stepped up to the challenge and asked this; did Gamora survive Tony's snap at the end of the movie? Well, the Russo Brothers have addressed that question...with another question.

A little over 2 months after the release of Avengers: Endgame, one would think that all the questions fans had after watching it would be answered. Once again though, the Marvel fandom has stepped up to the challenge and asked did Gamora survive Tony’s snap at the end of the movie? Well, the Russo Brothers have addressed that question now with another question.

In an interview with Fox 5 DC, the Endgame directors were asked about whether or not Gamora was dusted when Iron Man sacrificed his own life to undo Thanos’ evil handiwork. They replied as follows:

“The argument could be that Tony wished away all the evil . . . . Who knows? That’s a story for another time.”

It is an interesting point. Was Gamora part of Thanos’ army? Was she good or bad? Who did Tony wish away; just the Mad Titan’s minions or all the bad people? Personally, it’s something I’ve never thought about until now. The way she nailed Star-Lord in his asteroids didn’t really help, either. She’s certainly not the Gamora that fell in love with Quill, but who knows if she was beyond saving enough that Tony’s snap reduced her to dust.

After all, nothing after Stark’s heroic sacrifice makes it perfectly clear that Gamora survived. Even the IMDb page for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 doesn’t list Zoe Saldana as reprising her ass-kicking green alien role. The directors could be suggesting that the answer to this question will come in the Guardians’ next outing, but who knows?

Time will tell, though if you want to search for some more clues, be sure to catch Avengers: Endgame once more in theaters as Marvel’s now re-released it, and it comes with a couple extra goodies that we didn’t get the first time.
