“I’m Mary Poppins, y’all!”
Turns out Yondu (AKA everyone’s favorite Ravager) cropped up during the production of Thor: Ragnarok in the most unsuspecting way.
As revealed via Ragnarok‘s release on Digital HD (h/t ComicBook.com), Michael Rooker’s fan-favorite actually interrupted one of Asgard’s public executions, as below you’ll see Yondu moseying his way through a crowd of extras. Their facial expressions really tell the story, too, as Taika Waititi’s haggard Asgardians look to Rooker with a mixture of shock and confusion.
And so, after bringing a halt to Skurge’s (Karl Urban) execution, Yondu asks to be pointed in the direction of Kevin and Lou’s office – for the record, he’s likely referring to Marvel producers Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito – and below we’ve included a screengrab of the moment when Michael Rooker shatters the fourth wall. Alas, it appears this bonus scene was filmed with the sole intention of Ragnarok‘s home video release, and is more of a meta Marvel in-joke than anything else.
Looking further afield, now with Yondu ostensibly out of the picture – for real this time – Chris Hemsworth was recently quizzed about the possibility of a fourth Thor movie that would likely take place long after the events of Infinity War and Avengers 4.
And while he’s fast approaching the end of his Marvel contract, the towering Aussie admitted that he’d be game for another trip to the Seven Realms – providing the script is up to snuff.
Currently available via Digital HD, Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is expected to light up Blu-ray and DVD on March 6th. And the God of Thunder is bringing a whole raft of bonus content to home video, the details of which can be found below.
