Titus Welliver has been cast in an unspecified role in Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers 4. The actor is probably best known for playing the Man in Black in ABC’s Lost, a character who only appears in three episodes but goes on to become a pivotal figure in the show’s overall mythology. Welliver has a whole raft of credits to his name, with recurring spots in Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, and The Good Wife, as well as film roles in The Town, and Argo, both directed by Ben Affleck, and an uncredited role in RED 2.
Very little is known about the actor’s character here, but we can surmise that he will be either a villain, a hero, or possibly a bit of both. He joins Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer, Bingbing Li and Han Geng in the next installment in the blockbuster series, eagerly anticipated by everyone the world over for just how many pixels a person can fit into a single frame of action, if they so desire.
Transformers 4 is due to be released on the 27th of June, 2014. Filming has already begun, so expect a slow drip-feed of camera phone shots from the set directly into your Twitter feed, especially the ones of that dreamy Titus Welliver. People still say “dreamy”, right?
