After Roger Pera, a Spanish voice actor who dubbed Maguire’s voice in the trilogy Sam Raimi directed, said he would be involved in No Way Home, it appears as if Brazilian voice actor Manolo Rey may be joining the cast as well. Rey, who dubbed Maguire’s voice in previous Spider-Man movies, seemed to hint at a return in a brief Tik-Tok after a fan asked if he was returning to dub Maguire’s voice.

If Pera and Rey are involved, this would seem to confirm a report by in February insider Daniel Richtman, who reported that after months of negotiations, Maguire had agreed to a deal to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. A few days after Richtman reported Maguire had signed, he also reported that Maguire had begun shooting scenes for the film. Marvel has not confirmed either Maguire or Garfield’s involvement, although if neither do appear in the film, it may result in some angry fans wanting to see the two former Spider-Mans interact with Tom Holland, who has excelled as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

If Maguire does return, he would also be reuniting with J.K. Simmons, who will reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief of The Daily Bugle, which Simmons played in Maguire’s three films. Alfred Molina, who served as Maguire’s antagonist, Doctor Octopus, in Spider-Man 2. Additionally, Jamie Foxx will reprise the role of Electro from Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which should make the upcoming film a big reunion special.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set for a theatrical release on December 17, 2021.
