Fandango spoke with Sony’s Amy Pascal about the possibility of Tom Holland’s wall-crawler appearing opposite Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in a future Venom movie. The producer made clear that the studio definitely wants to do more with Spidey across the board, saying:

“I can say that we’ve had a fantastic partnership and you never know what’s going to happen. We have a lot of stories to tell about Spider-Man, in every facet.”

When pressed to clarify her statement, Pascal made clear that there are plans to do more with Holland as Peter Parker, though we’re not sure if the producer was just joking.

“We have big plans for Tom Holland to be a part of everything. Every movie we ever do! He needs to be in every movie that I ever work on!”

Ultimately, though, Pascal maintained that the top priority is getting each movie as strong as can be, with crossovers being an added bonus.

“The key thing to Venom to Tom Holland, Spider-Man, Spider-Verse is that as wonderful and as tempting as it is to connect the dots, nothing works if the individual movies don’t work and have their own integrity. And that is the key to it all. Everybody would love to see [a crossover] though. You never know someday… it might happen.”

It seems Sony has learned its lesson after The Amazing Spider-Man films fell guilty of trying to run before they could walk. Though by the sounds of it, a Spider-Man appearance in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters – as is the official name for the shared world of Venom, Morbius and other upcoming projects – could come sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, be sure to catch Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Far From Home, hitting theaters July 2nd.
